VideONet´s video management platform is one of the first CCTV/IPTV management system to support 100% virtualization. This is the logical step for a software platform solution with the ambition to integrate all video surveillance related functionality independent of brand or type of hardware.

In a virtualized project the VideONet system resides in a centrally placed rack-stack of blade servers, or from a software perspective, in a virtual Win32 enviroment. This makes the whole video management system immune to hardware failures, and in the worst case a new instance of the image can be up and running in seconds without further disturbance of the operator clients.

VideONet does still rely on edge hardware such as cameras, video encoders, VoIP phones, I/O modules etc. But in a virtual world a broken encoder creates a loss of one or two cameras, not a total system failure.
